Edward Flynn currently lives in central Florida and has been around the production environment most of his life, but officially started his formal training in live events in 2010 while volunteering for his local church. After eight years of learning the engineering side of live events and online event streaming, Edward decided to further his knowledge of cinematography. In his pursuit of this knowledge Edward attended Full Sail university, in an intensive 29-month bachelor’s program for digital cinematography. ​

Since starting his degree, Edward accepted a full-time job as the broadcast engineer for a large church in 2019. In this position he was responsible for the many elements that make up the look of the broadcast to outlets such as online and TV. Because of his involvement with the broadcast team, Edward also had to do various forms of editing. From editing one-hour videos for web producing, to editing short graphically driven PSA's.​

Edward has directed shows using Blackmagic Design and Ross switchers and infrastructure. Edward has also designed and installed large control rooms that use a Blackmagic design and Ross infrastructure. While in this role, and finishing his degree, Edward had also taken on a teaching roll; training up volunteers to run camera on the Hitachi Z-HD5000 with Fujinon XA55 lenses. Edward has a love for live events, he also has a passion for film and editing as well. In pursuing his degree Edward has produced and directed two narrative shorts, along with a commercial campaign in the completion of his degree.

 

In 2022 Edward accepted a job with the Walt Disney Company in Orlando,FL as an entertainment technician where he has been involved in engineering video systems for start line marathons as well as multiple ESPN events at the Wide World of Sports complex. Most recently Edward also ran camera shading for live broadcasts to ESPN 3. Edward has been a part of setup and tear down for multiple events and shows since joining Disney as well as assisting in creating a live events video class. Edward's passion for live events as well as his loyalty and dedication to his work are what make him an asset in any production.
